ABRAM P. HAYS, Jr., Treasurer

Abram Packer Hays, Jr. is the son of Abram Packer Hays, Sr. and Elizabeth Prugh Hays of Munhall and Pittsburgh, PA, the grandson of Captain William Seward Brenneman Hays of Munhall, and the great grandson of Captain Abraham Hays of Munhall.

As a child and teenager, he remembers well visits to Harden Place with his parents and two sisters. The Hays Homestead in its antiquity, size and mysterious passages made an indelible impression upon him.

At age 83, he regrets to this day that he and his two sisters, one now deceased, could not have acquired the property and preserved its superb historic recognition as a bastion of the Abolitionist Movement in America prior to the Civil War. Read More.

PETER S. HAYS, DIRECTOR

Peter (Pete) Hays is the son of William Seward Hays, Sr. and Alice Kathryn Sipe.

Pete works for Argon ST, a wholly owned subsidiary of Boeing Defense, Space & Security, as a Senior Systems Engineer. Pete holds a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech (earned 1988 and 1990). Pete joined Argon Engineering Associates as a Systems Engineer in 1998, early in the growth of the then small defense contractor as it got its first contract employing more than a few people.  Pete worked on the design, integration, testing or fielding/supporting of several systems as Argon grew and evolved. In 2004 Argon became the public company, Argon ST, Inc., by merging with the publicly traded company Sensytech, with Argon Engineering executive management running the resulting company (market cap of approximately $500M at merger time). Argon ST, Inc., continued to grow and was purchased by Boeing, to operate as a wholly owned subsidiary (for approximately $775M) in 2010. Before Argon, Pete worked for Engineering Research Associates (ERA) (a wholly owned subsidiary of E-Systems which was subsequently bought by Raytheon in 1995) from 1990 to 1998. Pete worked on hardware, circuit-board and subsystem design, debug, testing and integration starting at ERA after college. Pete worked on various systems integration, field installation and field support efforts and designed, wrote, debugged, and integrated software over his career at ERA. The top level executive management at ERA eventually moved on to found Argon Engineering Associates and brought Pete on board as soon as they had work that could use the abilities and drive that they had come to know/expect from him at ERA.

Pete’s hobbies/pastimes include playing tennis, racquetball, snorkeling, scuba diving and art collecting.
